WWI - WWII medal group with a partial ID. The NYS service medal traces to Pvt. William Koster, who was a member of the 315th Infantry, 79th Infantry Division in WWI, was severely wounded, and went AWOL from Walter Reed Hospital before surrendering and being honorably discharged several months later. The NYS and WWI Victory medals definitely belong to him.
The WWII medals are from an unknown recipient, but likely a relative given that they came out of the woodwork together. The BSM was issued with two early 50's dated engraving cards, but they were never sent in. The ARCOM's are in the early clear plastic cases.
Some nice items here worthy of more research to ID the WWII recipient. The piece is vintage and therefore may show signs of age, wear, or patina. At that time, an unpaid item case will automatically be opened. It will be left, but please be patient.
